Having studied the harmful effects of global warming at university, I like that I get to contribute towards the reduction of greenhouse gases and a cleaner planet. When you arrive on site first thing in the morning and see all the blades spinning around, producing energy from a natural and abundant resource, there is a lot of satisfaction to be had knowing you helped to build them.
Hi I’m Nicky and I’m a Master Mariner. My partner Stuart and I own two crew transfer vessels for offshore wind farms in a joint venture company with CWind. I started as a trainee skipper; working on the CWind Athenia. I went full time when our own vessel – the CWind Endeavour – was launched.
When our first vessel (the CWind Endeavour) was launched we began work at Lincs offshore wind farm. Since then she has worked at Gwynt-y-Môr, London Array and is now at West of Duddon Sands. Our second vessel (the CWind Endurance) launched in April 2014 and has worked at Westermost Rough on three separate contracts.
