I started out with a general planning skill set that allowed me to transfer into the renewable energy industry. I have been fortunate enough to be employed by forward-thinking companies that have trusted me to lead on new ideas. The last ten years have passed incredibly quickly!

My advice to people who would like to join this industry is to simply use the skills they have already, employ common sense and most importantly be enthusiastic about the reasons why renewable energy is drastically needed. After that it’s just about being pro-active and engaging with people, I’m a firm believer in talking to people face to face, if you can’t do that pick up the phone and only after that leave to e-mail.
