Assistant Project Engineer
Seajacks
I support the safe and cost-effective delivery of projects; interfacing between clients, suppliers and internal departments...
This involves facilitating the application of the appropriate wind farm, oil & gas and construction operations and Best Practices as well as exploring initiatives and developing processes, procedures, techniques and relationships to enhance Seajacks’ operations capability in line with HSEQ policies and strategic plans.
Every day always brings different challenges. I love seeing a project from the very start go all the way through to finalising with the end goal. The enthusiasm in this industry is also very exciting as realistically I have a long time to go within it.
I got into the sector through an opportunity arising at the technical college I was attending. I completed some voluntary days at Seajacks, where I began to understand what they did. I was then offered an apprentice type role and have worked myself up from there.Through technical colleges and universities is always a great way to find jobs within the industry or even look to see what skills are required so these can be worked on.
