My job is incredibly diverse; it involves the assembly of high resolution digital camera and server rigs that fit into light aircraft for aerial surveying of birds, marine mammals and human activity at offshore wind farms.
Typically, we will support a developer to provide data to allow environmental impact assessment to take place, before then undertaking pre- and post-construction surveys and analysis.
The company itself is constantly striving to improve – we have just been confirmed as a UK Trade & Industry North West Export Champion for the third year running. I look forward to some very exciting times ahead in the renewables industry.
My advice to anyone wanting to start a career in the renewables industry is to research the sector fully, look at what transferable skills you may have already and network with people and companies already involved.

Although I live in the Midlands, during the week I am based at Cleator Moor in the north-west of Cumbria, where we have our main office.
